MacBAT 5 USER GUIDE. Version 1.0
It is required to use always the newest release of this documentation. Newest version can be obtained from the
Manufacturer. Ensure the documentation is relevant to the hardware and firmware version of configured device.
MacBAT 5 volume converter is the explosion proof device in intrinsically safety variant i”. Device can be installed in
hazardous explosive Zone 0, 1, 2 of gas and dusts from group IIA and IIB
Internal safe circuits, including integral pressure sensors and temperature do not withstand the 500V test described in
EN60079-11 standard for grounded or insulated metal parts in the interior. Protection rating does not depend on the
spaces. Metal thimbles are galvanically connected and can be installed fully not grounded or fully grounded. This must
be considered during the installation.
Person installing the device is responsible for examination of continuity of safety connections.
Avoid impacts or scratching the housing. Risk of ignition.
It is forbidden to open the housing in conditions allowing for water leakage or dust inside the terminals chamber
rainfall, snowfall, strong wind.
Declared by the manufacturer IP rating will be achieved when the rubber sealing is placed properly in the device
housing. Moreover, the cables must be fitting tightly to the cable glands, tightened front cover. Not used cable glands
must be plugged, antenna connector (if equipped) must be plugged by the cap or antenna.
