2.5.2 Charging the rechargeable battery
VIBSCANNER 2 is shipped with a partially charged rechargeable battery. If the re-
chargeable battery is discharged during transport or due to device use, recharge it by us-
ing the included power adapter ("Charge socket" on page 22).
ATTENTION!
Observe the following information to preserve the service life of the re-
chargeable battery.
Charge the battery if the remaining battery power drops below 15% of full ca-
pacity or if the charge status display lights up red.
Note the permissible temperature range for charging: +10 .. +40°C [50 .. 104 °F].
If the measuring device is not used for an extended period of time, check the bat-
tery status regularly and charge the rechargeable battery as needed.
Tip
Always charge the rechargeable battery on the evening prior to the measurement
day.
Regarding the charging process
o
Do not perform any measurements using VIBSCANNER 2 during the charging pro-
cess.
o
The back of the device can heat up slightly during charging.
o
The power adapter can remain connected to the measuring device after charging
completion.
o
Charging takes typically 5 hours with the device switched off and a fully depleted
battery (charging temperature: 25°C [77 °F]). The higher the ambient temperature,
the longer the charging process.
Battery status display (LED)
The battery status display indicates the following states when charging:
