4.6 RPM measurement using the stroboscope
WARNING!
Severe or fatal injuries possible. Rotating components on the machine appear
static in the flashing light of the stroboscope. Do not reach into the illuminated
components.
CAUTION!
Risk of damage to the eyes! Do not look into the light source if the stroboscope
is in operation.
Point stroboscope onto the rotating component.
Adjust the flashing frequency using the adjuster wheel on the screen.
4.6.1 Verifying/measuring rotational speed
The RPM measurement using the stroboscope is possible in the following situations:
o
Verification of the determined speed. This takes place usually after a vibration
measurement with the machine speed finder activated.
o
Speed measurement at a vibration measurement location.
o
Speed measurement at a speed measurement location.
Procedure
Point the measuring device with the stroboscope onto the rotating component.
Pay attention to a sufficient safety clearance and good illumination.
