2.6 Onboard sensor system
The following sensors for data acquisition are installed in VIBSCANNER 2.
2.6.1 Stroboscope
Using the stroboscope, you can verify the rotational speed calculated from the vibration
measurement. The measuring principle is based on the stroboscopic effect using the per-
sistence of vision of the human eye. If the rotating shaft appears static in the flashing
light, the rotational frequency of the shaft corresponds to the flashing frequency of the
stroboscope .
The flashing frequency can be controlled using the touch display. The verified speed can
be copied into the measurement data record and used as reference for further kinematic
calculations on the machine ("RPM measurement using the stroboscope" on page 70).
CAUTION!
Risk of damage to the eyes! Do not look into the light source if the stroboscope
is in operation.

2.6.2 RFID reader module
Using the RFID reader module, the coding of a measurement location equipped with a
PRÜFTECHNIK transponder can be read. With that, VIBSCANNER 2 reliably detects every
measurement location and always performs the intended measurement task at the
proper measurement location.
RFID technology works with electromagnetic waves and is designed for short distances
between transponder and reader. The RFID reader module on VIBSCANNER 2 is installed
on the front end and marked with an RFID logo. Hold the measuring device as close as
