4.4 Measurement tasks
The measurement location information icon (" 3: Measurement location info" on page
37) indicates the measurement task to be measured at the active measurement location:
Icon Measurement task
Vibration measurement with vibration acceleration sensor. Determination of
the rotational speed, when machine speed finder activated.
Vibration measurement at a tagged measurement location with VIBCODE
sensor. Determination of the rotational speed, when machine speed finder ac-
tivated. ("Coded measurement locations" on page 66).
RPM measurement (explicit) with the stroboscope or via manual input. Only at
measurement locations, where no vibration measurement is planned.
Manual input of process parameters and data from visual inspections.
Vibration measurement using a triaxial vibration sensor.
Measurement of the relative movement via the signal output on a protection
system (vibration displacement or distance).
Measurement of process parameters as vibration level (DC).
Temperature via manual input.
4.4.1 Vibration measurement with rotational speed determination
VIBSCANNER 2 features a function which can be used to determine the rotational speed
from the vibration signal ("Machine speed finder" on page 87).
Procedure

The measurement is similar to a vibration measurement ("Vibration measurement"
on page 59).

The [Select speed] dialog window appears after measurement completion:
Machine speed finder determines three
probable speed values from the vibration
signal.
Select the value with the highest probability (level of confidence).
