Corrective procedure for an extended IEEE1394 board error

Confirm that the extended IEEE1394 board is properly mounted.

Confirm that the IEEE1394 cable is properly connected.

Restart the personal computer.
If the problem cannot be solved after following steps

Disconnect all IEEE1394 interface cables from the personal computer.

Run the tool stored in the following folder on the CD-ROM supplied with
the machine:
D:\drivers\utility\1394\ (when drive "D" contains the CD-ROM)

Restart the personal computer.
A print instruction was issued
from the personal computer, but
printing has not started.
User code management may have been set. Ask the admin-
istrator about the valid user code. To perform printing, the
user code must be entered from the printer driver.
The print job is not canceled
even when the machine is
switched to the offline status.
Change the system setting of "Signal Control" to "Printer pri-
ority".

It takes a long time to print from
the Macintosh G3 or G4 via a
hub.
When the machine is connected to a Macintosh computer
equipped with the G3 or G4 processor via a hub, it may take
a long time to transfer data on 100BASE-TX from the Macin-
tosh to the machine.
The machine connected by an
IEEE1394 cable cannot be recog-
nized.
When multiple machines are connected to a personal com-
puter, a machine may not be recognized or other problems
may occur if the IEEE1394 cable connecting the machine is
reconnected at the wrong time.
If a printer connected to an extended IEEE1394 board cannot
print or an error message appears during printing, follow the
corrective procedure described under the table.
