5 Cleaning and Performing Printer Adjustments

8 Press the / buttons to change ADJUST
LEVEL until the GAP(R) value is 0.3 V or
lower.
The adjustment range of ADJUST LEVEL is from 0
to 127.
9 Take a note of the GAP(R) value from the
above procedure. This is the “Low” level
value for the Gap sensor.
Next, check the “High” level (voltage) of the Gap sensor.

Unlock the media feed and media sensor
assembly .

Physically place the label resting over
the Gap sensor.

Press the media feed and media sensor
assembly down to lock it.
To get the correct adjustment result, close the
media sensor assembly before performing the
adjustment.

Check the new GAP(R) value. This is the
“High” level value for the Gap sensor.
If the difference between the “High” and the “Low”
level value is 1.0V or more, then the adjustment has
satisfied the criteria.
If the difference between the “High” and the “Low”
level value is less than 1.0V, repeat the procedure
from steps 5 through 13.
Hint: In step 8, adjust the ADJUST LEVEL such that
the low level value is a little higher than 0.3 V.

Press the ENTER button to confirm the setting and proceed to the next adjustment
screen.
Note
If you are having difficulties in adjusting the sensor level properly, clean the media sensor portion. If the
problem persists, contact your SATO reseller or technical support center to replace the media sensor.
Criteria for Adjustment:
Low level (liner portion): +0.3 V
High level (label portion) - Low level: +1.0 V
Low level: +0.3V
