12.3.4 Software specification
The software specification relates to the prior specification of the safety functions. It can also
be replaced by a correspondingly prepared specification of the safety functions if this contains
all specifications (see example in 12.3.3.3).
However, it is recommended to prepare an extracted list. This list should contain the
following information:
• Identification of the safety function
• Functional description
• Parameters as far as present
• Triggering event / operating state
• Response / output
The level of detail in the specification should be suitable for subsequent validation of the
programming.
