Topping up the
index-matching
fluid
If no more index-matching fluid emerges when turning the metering wheel in clockwise
direction, top up with new index-matching fluid.
The tool bag contains a plastic syringe filled with index-matching fluid (see next figure).
Turn the metering wheel in counter-clockwise direction until you can remove it. Located
in the lid is a cavity for holding the index-matching fluid.
Use the syringe to fill the cavity with the index-matching fluid (approx. 0.1 ml) (see next
figure).
Screw the metering wheel back on.
Topping Up the Index-Matching Fluid
Cleaning the
fiber guide
Clean the fiber guides with the brush.
To remove stubborn dirt from the grooves in the fiber guides, use the groove cleaner for
the LID system.
Note
Always clean the fiber guide, when installed, working from the inside out.
