The microprocessor-controlled splicer will only supply satisfactory results if high-quality
fiber cleavers are also used which can ensure a cleave angle error of ≤ 0.8°.
Assessing the
end faces
If you wish to inspect the end faces, insert the fibers into the splicer. Page with the
button to menu item "Search for fibers" and press the button. The fibers will then
appear on the screnn.

Assessing the Fiber End Face Quality

Fibers which are very dirty can be given a preliminary cleaning by dabbing the ends of
the fibers onto the sticky surface of a strip of adhesive tape.
