Service data
Submenu "Service data" is located in the "Additional functions" menu . It is used to
display data relating to use of the splicer and to set specific service intervals.
Operating hours,
total splices
Operating hours:
Displays the total operating time in hours. The value cannot be changed or cleared.
Total splices:
Displays the number of splices performed with the splicer. This value cannot be
changed or cleared.
Electrode
cleaning
interval
Electrode cleaning interval:
This is used to enter the number of splices after which a reminder is to be issued to
clean the electrodes. A value of 500 is set at the factory. Depending on the application,
a value of between 50 and 700 can be chosen.
Clear counter:
"Yes" resets the counter for electrode cleaning to "0". The electrodes must be cleaned
beforehand.

placement interval
Electrode replacement interval:
This is used to specify the number of splices after which a reminder is to be issued to
exchange the electrodes. This value is set to 5000 at the factory and can lie between
the value set for electrode cleaning and 7000.
Clear counter:
"Yes" resets the displayed counter for electrode replacement to "0".
Service support The submenu "Service support" is intended to give help to the craftsperson when con-
fronted with a problem in the field. Menu-driven selection is used to check individual
splicer functions. This enables the craftsperson to decide on the spot whether e.g. the
splicer can be restored to normal operation simply by cleaning the lens system or
whether it will have to be returned to the service center for maintenance. It also simpli-
fies the optimization of the splice parameters.

Date, time
Submenu "Date, time" is located in the "Additional functions" menu.
It is used to set the date and time.

Date: Displays the set date.
New date: Can be used to change the set date.
Time,
New time
Time: Displays the set time.
New time: Can be used to change the set time.
