Parameter Menu
General
The Parameter menu can be used to match the parameters to the fiber type used. The
Parameter menu is subdivided into "Program selection" and "Additional functions".
Determining the
optimum parame-
ters
- Use the default parameters for your initial attempts.
- If the results are not satisfactory, refer to the troubleshooting notes in section 7.
- If you still do not obtain satisfactory results, you should read the section
"Significance of the splicing parameters" in this section to find out the effect of changing
the individual parameters.
Call the menu
Pressing the
button allows you to access the Parameter menu with the electrode
flap closed. Pressing the
button in the Parameter menu returns you to the normal
operator guidance.

Button functions
The buttons on the program control panel are used for selecting the parameters. These
buttons have the following functions in the Parameter menu:
Enter/exit the Parameter menu
Save value (Enter)
Page up, move to previous line
Page down, move to next line
Increment value
Decrement value
Resetting the
parameters
If you hold the
button depressed while switching on the splicer, all parameters in all
program groups are reset to the default values.
Note
This is only possible if the password has not been activated.
