For fiber type "depressed inner cladding" an excess length of fiber must be left between
the fiber holders and the LID flaps in order to ensure correct measurement of the at-
tenuation.

check
- To check whether the LID transmitter and LID receiver are functioning correctly,
insert a continuous fiber into the LID system.
- Select the "Manual fiber adjustment" function in one of the LID programs, select X or
Y positioning and press button
- A level of at least 0.500 must be displayed on the monitor.
If this is not the case, eliminate the fault (section 7).
