Z-gap Distance between the fiber ends during prefusion 2.0 - 10.0 µm
Autofeed Inward movement of the fiber ends beyond the point of contact
(overtravel)

LID system Selection of the LID system used. If an external LID system is used,
the wavelength (nm) and settling time (ms) must also be entered.
Internal/external
Cleaning current Temperature of the fiber ends during cleaning 10.0 - 16.0 mA
Cleaning time Time the arc is burning during cleaning 0.05 - 0.3 s
Prefusion current Temperature at the fiber end faces during prefusion 10.0 - 20.0 mA
Prefusion time Time between initiation of the arc and initiation of the overall feed 0.03 - 2.5 s
Fusion current Temperature of the fiber ends during fusion 10.0 - 20.0 mA
Fusion time Time the arc is burning during fusion 0.0 - 10.0 s
Tensile test Tensile test of the fused fibers. Yes/no
