The function of switch 8 varies, depending on the ET 200U interface module
ordered:

318–8MB11 ON: The I/O bus speed is reduced (“Slow Mode”).
318–8MB12 DP–Norm (DP Standard): Bus protocol to Draft Standard
PROFIBUS–DP (can be used as from COM ET 200 version
4.0).
DP–Siemens: Bus protocol to DP Siemens. The
ET 200U automatically switches into the slow mode when it
identifies an IP 265.
Set station number 52 and DP–Siemens:
