34.3 Modification 1, 2 & 4 as per EMC upgrade
This modification instruction is for SLE4000 and SLE5000 models J to N and describes the
method of installation of Modification 1, 2 & 4
These modifications are required to improve the conducted emission at 67dB and radiated
immunity at 829 and 100 MHz for the group of ventilators listed below.
Affected unit model serial numbers:
SLE5000 52943 to 56995
SLE4000 42031 to 43259
There are 4 modifications in total. Each modification has been assigned a number.
Unit that are modified in the field require modifications 1, 2 & 4.
New ventilators manufactured after the serial number listed above will have modifications 1,
2 & 3 as standard.
Units modified as part of the PPM routine will have their electronic unit serial number panel
marked as follows.
34.3.1 MOD 1 EMC strips
Reduce the lengths of the air gap between the rear sides of the electronic chassis and the
top metal cover by applying the conductive EMC shielding self-adhesive foam strips.
Reduce the length of the air gap between the slanted LCD mounting plate and the front of
the electronic chassis by applying the conductive EMC shielding self-adhesive foam strips.
34.3.2 MOD 2 Flow sensor circuitry
An addition of a 1nF ceramic capacitor across pin 1 & 2 and across pin 3 & 4 on JP4 of the
Control/Monitor board.
34.3.3 MOD 4 Mains inlet loom modification
Addition of 220nF capacitor loom to the Mains loom assembly to be used with existing
unmodified PSU.
