GRIND WHEEL REPLACEMENT
Periodic inspection of the grinding wheels should be
implemented to determine when wheels are worn and require
replacement. Each wheel has 1/8" of diamond bond when new.
The bond will wear until the aluminum hub is exposed. Wheels
will not grind once the aluminum has been exposed. Both
wheels are fastened to the grind wheel mounting plate with
stainless steel socket head cap screws. To remove the fine
wheel use a 3/16" hex wrench to loosen the six screws from the
top perimeter of the mounting plate. To remove the coarse
wheel loosen the four screws located on the inside of the wheel
cup from below using a 5/16" hex wrench. Install both wheels
in the reverse order of removal.
Following replacement of either wheel it will be necessary to
first true the wheel to the spindle and then to dress the wheel
for grinding.
