STEP 3 - GRIND PARAMETER ENTRY
The grind parameter entry menu is used to access the variable
data that defines the necessary parameters for a grind cycle.
These parameters are a function of many variables and depend on
the particular process or application. A description of each
parameter and its function follows.
To display the machine operation menu, press the reset key. Turn
the key switch to "auto" and press the "3" key. This will display the
grind parameters menu. This menu lists three options:
1) single grind
2) dual grind - coarse
3) dual grind - finish
All options require seven pieces of data. All data is stored in non-
volatile memory and will be retained until changed by the operator.
To enter data, press the key corresponding to the line number for
that parameter. A > symbol will be displayed next to the data for
the parameter to be changed. The following display will appear in
the lower right hand corner of the screen:
data entry [ +0]
Enter the new data and verify that the number in brackets is
correct. Press "ENT." The new data should now be displayed next
to the corresponding parameter. If data is incorrect, repeat the
above procedure using the correct data.
SINGLE GRIND PARAMETERS
Single grind parameters define the necessary data to perform a
single grind cycle. a single grind cycle is a cycle using only one of
the two grinding wheels. The wheel to be used is specified by the
wafer chuck position as explained below. To enter single grind
parameter data, enter the grind parameters menu and press the
"1" key. The seven required pieces of data are explained below:
1) Maximum feed wafer - enter the maximum thickness of the
wafers (in microns) before grinding.
