The model 7AA uses both sinking and sourcing inputs. With
sinking inputs the positive input terminal (positive input terminals
correspond to pins identified by letters on the input card edge
connector) is connected to +24 VDC and the input turns on when
the switch connects the minus terminal (minus terminals
correspond to pins identified by numbers on the input card edge
connector) to DC common. Conversely, for sourcing inputs the
minus terminal is connected to DC common and the switch must
connect the positive terminal to +24 VDC to energize the input.

24 VDC OUTPUTS
The control uses 24 VDC outputs for controlling solenoid actuated
air and vacuum valves, relays, keypads, etc. The output consists
of an optically isolated phototransistor that acts as a current switch
to energize and de-energize the output load.
Outputs on the machine are both sourcing and sinking. For
sourcing outputs the positive (collector) terminal of the output
transistor (positive terminals correspond to pins identified by
numbers on the output card edge connector) is connected to +24
VDC and the output load is connected to the minus (emitter)
terminal (minus terminals correspond to pins identified by letters on
the output card edge connector) of the output transistor. The
minus side of the load is connected to DC common. When the
output transistor is turned on the load is energized. Conversely,
for sinking outputs the plus side of the load is connected to +24
VDC. The minus side of the load is connected to the positive
output terminal. The negative output terminal is connected to DC
common.

AC OUTPUTS
The AC output modules contain optically isolated switch
modules to control the AC loads on the machine. Each AC
output module is connected to line voltage which is distributed
to each energized output. The other load terminal is connected
to neutral.
