The machine should be inspected for any damage that may have
occurred during shipping. Any such damage should be noted and
must be corrected before proceeding with the installation of the
machine. Remove the machine from the shipping pallet and set it in
place for installation. when using a forklift or similar equipment to
transport the machine, force should be applied only to the outside
edges of the main machine cabinet.
Care must be taken during handling to avoid rotating either air
bearing spindle. Rotating an air bearing without sufficient air
pressure may damage the bearing. Carefully remove any warning
tags on both air bearing spindles.
Open the rear door to expose the grind spindle mechanism. The
grind spindle arm is suspended above the hardened lever used for
axis reference to prevent damage during shipping. Remove the wires
and wood shim and carefully lower the spindle arm roller onto the
lever.
The spindle counterbalance weight rests on an angle bracket to
support the weight during shipping. This bracket must be removed
before operating the machine. Remove the weight from the bracket
by pulling up on the suspension cable. At the same time lift slightly
on the bracket and remove it from the hole in the rear of the cabinet.
Gently lower the cable to allow the counterbalance to hang freely.
