the new gasket does not

ve
a row
of
gray
colored sealant already applied to this area, apply
a thin coat of gasket sealant (Three Bond or
equivalent) to
th
e
ri
ght-hand cran kcase cover
gasket in the area shown in
Figure
212. This is to
provide an oil-tight seal at this portion of the
gasket.

Insta
ll
a new
ri
ght-hand crankcase cover gasket
(
Figure
213
).
4. Insta
ll
the right-hand crankcase cover and the
boils (Fig
ur
e 2

). Be sure

ll

s as shown
in

). If the special washers are nOI
installed,
th
e righi-hand crankcase cover will leak
oil. Tighten the bolts securel
y.

Install
th
e clutch cable into t
he
receptacle
in
the
right-hand crankcase cover.
6.
Place a
19
mm open end wrench (Figure 208)
on the clutch release arm and carefully push down
on the wrench.
Th
is
will move the
ar
m up
in
order
to easily accept the clutch cable .
7.
Insta
ll
the clutch cable into the
re
lease arm
(
Figure
209).
NOTE
li
th
e locking tab has been opened and
closed seve
ra
l times, the locking tab
may break off.
If
this happens. insert
a small cotler pin through the holes in
the release arm recep
ta
cle
10
secure
the cable end.
8. Close the locking tab (
Figure
207) on the
release arm to hold the ca
bl
e end
in
place.
9. Perform Steps 12-24 of
En
gine Oil
and
Filler
Change
as described in Chapter
Th
ree and refi
ll
the engine oil.

Install the r

brake pedal bracket and

gh
t-
ha
nd
foot rest. Tighten
th
e nuts to the torque
specification
