3. Remove the Allen boh and gasket from the
slider.
4. Ho ld th e upper fork lube in a vise with so ft jaws
and loosen the fork cap boll
(if it wa s not loosened
during the fork removal sequence).

5. Remove the fork cap bolt ( figure 58) fr om the
fo rk tube.
6. Remove the s
pacer (A, Figure 59). spring seat
(B. Figure 59) and the fork spring (C. Figure 59).
7. Remove the fork from the vise. pour the fork
oil o ut and discard it. Pump the fork several times
by hand to expel most of the remaining
oil.
8. Remove the dust seal ( Figur e 60) from the
s lider .
9. Remove the sto pper ring ( Figur e 61 ) from th e
slider.
10 . If the Allen bolt was not loosened before. use
special Suzuki tools and perform the
fo ll owing:
a.
Insta ll the attachment "G" (part No. 099 40-
34592) onto the "T" handle (part No. 09940-
34520)
as shown in Figure 62.
b. In sert this speci ailool setup into the fork tube
( Hgure 63) and index it into the hex receptacle
in
th e lOp of the damper rod to ho ld Ih e damper
rod
in place.
c. Using an Allen wrench. loosen, then remove
the Allen bolt a
nd washer from the base of the
slider.
