Check the top cover and diaphragm (
Figure
26)
fo
r damage and deterioration and replace as
necessary.
9.
Inspect the threads
in
the bore (
Figure
21
) for
the union bolt.
If
worn
or
damaged. clean out with
a thread
lap or replace the master
cy
linder
assembl
y.
10.
Check the hand lever pivot lugs (
Figur
e 28)
on the maSler cylinder body for cracks.
If
damaged.
replace the master cylinder assembly.
II.
Make sure the opening (
Figure
29)
in
the union
bolt is clear. Clean out
if
necessary.
Assembly
I. Soak the new cups in fresh brake
nuid
for at
least
15
minutes
to
make them pliable. Coat the
in

e
of
the cylinder bore with fresh hydraulic
nuid
before assembling parts.

Install the spring and piston assembly into the
