7.8. DISASSEMBLING THE CRANK BELT

Carry out the operations described in paragraph
7.6. “Disassembling the guards
disassemble the guards on the side you need.
1. Back off the screw a using a 6-
mm hex
wrench, locking down the pin on the opposite
side with another 6-mm hex wrench.
2. Remove the pulley b
tensioned.
During reassembly, check the tension of
the belt acting on the eccentric pin of the
pulley “b” as detailed in paragraph 8.4.
“Crank belt tension”.
3. Back off the 5 grub screws c using a 5-mm
hex wrench.
During reassembly, lock down the screw
“a” using a torque wrench set for 20
screws “c” using a torque wrench set for
16 Nm, in a cross pattern.

4. Use 3 of the 5 dowel pins c
to remove the
key from the shaft: when locked down into
function as an extractor,
causing the key to be pushed out.
5. Back off the screw e using a 5-
mm hex
wrench and remove the crank assembly from
the shaft.
During reassembly, lock down the screw
“e” using a torque wrench set for 30
