1. Locate module to be re mov e d: Locate the motherboard in the locator diagram
Internal Modules, Fi gur e 6--7, on pa ge 6--19. Note the location of cables and
cable connectors see Figure 6--17 on page 6--32. Additional modules to be
removed:
! Trim (all)
! Bottom cover
! Left and Right covers
! Power Supply
2. Orient the osci l l osc ope : Set the oscilloscope so the bottom i s down on the
work surface a nd the top panel is facing you.
3. Remove the mot he rboard assembly: See Figure 6--24, on page 6--44.
NOTE. The motherboard and rear chassis is removed as one assembly.
a. Remove the four T-15 TORX drive screws that secure the power cord
retainers, the pouch bracket, and motherboard assembly to t he side of the
chassis.
b. Re m ove the two bottom feet from the chassis of the motherboard
assembly.
NOTE. You only need to separately remove the two bottom feet if you plan to
replace the sheet metal and reuse the feet. Also, if you do plan to replace the
sheet metal, t he n remember that it has stick e rs with important information on it
such as the serial #, option label and safety data.
c. Remove the two jack screws that secure the VGA connec t or to the
bracket.
d. Di sc onne c t the three cables from the motherboard assembly.
e. Disconne c t the GPIB cable from the PC int e r f a c e board.
f. Carefully lift the assembly out of the chassis.
4. Orient the mothe rboard assembly: Set the motherboard assem bl y so the
bottom is down on the work surface a nd the connector panel is facing you.
5. Remove the mot he rboard from the rear chassis:
a. Remove the six jack screws that secure the motherboard connectors to
the connector panel of the rear chassis.
