If there i s a display on the VGA port, but not on the LCD, replace the display
assembly (LCD, l a m ps, and cable).
If the displa y adapter is bad, the BIOS should repor t it using beep codes (see
Table 6--11, on page 6--64).
If nothing is displayed, is the display turned on? At boot time and while using an
external monitor connected to the PC mothe r boa r d external video port, press F2
to enter the BIOS setup. The Advanced Video Configuration menu lets you select
PCI (LCD) or AGP (the PC motherboard port on the upper-side panel). The
lower VGA port on the side panel i s the PCI video port (driven by the same
video controller as the LCD) .
If the oscil l osc ope will not boot, press F8 to enter the start up menu, and boot to
the command pr om pt . If you can boot to the command prompt, use the MSDOS
Edit program to edit the autoexec.bat fi l e to run the CMOS re st or e utility (se e
Update/Restore the PC Motherboard CMOS on page 6-- 69) .
If booting sta r t s, finds the hard disk, but hangs at the Windows splash scre e n:
1. Select the AGP video port using the setup menu.
2. Disconnect the PC motherboard f r om the PC Interface board.
3. If the system boots (It will only boot to Windows; the oscilloscope applica-
tion will not run) to the external PC motherboard video port, replace the PC
Interface board.
If the oscil l osc ope boots into Windows, but the oscilloscope application does not
work (the DPO Man graphic is displayed), check the following:
1. The application software.
2. The Acquisition board.
3. The PC Interface board.
4. Did someone exit the applicati on using the Task Manager and then try to
reenter the application without rebooting?
5. If the rel a ys click, the acquisition is running.
6. Check the desktop properties (r i ght click on the desktop and select Proper-
ties). On the Settings tab, 16 bit is required. Video merge wil l not work with
other settings. If you change the setting, reboot.
7. On the Settings tab of the desktop properties, select Advanced and then the
Performance tab. Hardware Acceleration must be set to Full for video merge
to work. If you change the setting, reboot.
