5. MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE
Predictive diagnostic functions, including data acquisition records, failure warnings and
test functions built into the analyzer, allow the user to determine when repairs are
necessary. A minimal number of simple, regularly performed maintenance procedures
(Section 5.1) will ensure that the analyzer continues to operate accurately and reliably over
its lifetime. Repairs and troubleshooting are covered in Section 5.7 of this manual.
5.1 MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
Table 5-1 shows a typical maintenance schedule for the analyzer. Please note that in
certain environments (i.e. dusty, very high ambient pollutant levels) some maintenance
procedures may need to be performed more often than shown.

Disconnect power before performing any of the following operations
that require entry into the interior of the analyzer.
Caution – Qualified Personnel
These maintenance procedures must be performed by
qualified technicians only.
Important
IMPACT ON READINGS OR DATA
A Span and Zero Calibration Check (see CAL
Column of Table 5-1) must be performed following certain of the
maintenance procedure listed below.
To perform a CHECK of
the instrument’s Zero or Span Calibration, refer to Sections
4.2.1.1 and 4.2.1.2, respectively.
Alternatively, use the Auto Cal feature described in Section 4.3
with the CALIBRATE attribute set to OFF (not enabled).
