Hazard-
To
allow stored energy to dissipate after power is
disconnected, wait at least five minutes before replacing parts.
The generator contains electrostatic-sensitive components. When repairing the
generator, work at a static-control workstation. Wear a grounding strap when
handling electrostatic-sensitive components, except when working on an
energized generator. Handle circuit boards by their nonconductive edges. Use an
antistatic container for transport of electrostatic-sensitive components and circuit
boards.
Notice
Calibrate the generator after you install a new battery. Calibration values are lost
when the battery is replaced. Refer to Calibrating the Force FX-C Generator in
Section 5 for instructions.
1.
Turn
off
the
generator.
Disconnect
the
power
cord
from
the
wall
receptacle.
2.
Remove
the
five
screws
that
secure
the
cover
to
the
ch.:1ssis. Lift
the
cover
off
the
chassis.
Set
the
cover
and
screws
aside
for
reinstallation.
3.
Locate
the
battery
at
the
upper
left
comer
of
the
Control
board.
4.
Grasp
the
battery
and
slide
it
up
and
out
of
the
socket.
5.
Install
the
new
3 V
button-cell
battery
(CR2450
or
equivalent).

Position
the
battery
above
the
socket
SD
that
the
positive
side
of
the
battery
is facing
out
(visible).

Slide
the
battery
down
into
the
socket
until
it
is
firmly
seated.
6.
Position
the
cover
above
the
chassis
,md
slide
it
down.
Install
the
five
screws
that
secure
the
cover
to
the
chassis.
