The
RS-232 serial
port
allows
conununication
between
an
attached
computer
or
terminal
and
the
main
microcontroller
of
the generator. This
conununication
link
lets
you
obtain
information
regarding
calibration
values,
power
and
mode
settings,
and
the
alarm
number
history
of
the
generator.
You
can
also
use
the
link
when
calibrating
the
generator.
Equipment
required:
Phillips screwdriver.
Step
1 -
Establish
the
CDmmunications
Link
A.
Turn
off
the
generator.
B.
On
the
rear
panel
of
the
generator,
remove
the
screws
that
secure
the
metal
plate
that
covers
the
serial
port.
C.
Connect a standard
DB
9 serial cable to your computer
and
to the serial
port.
Pin
2
is
the
serial
output
data
line.
Pin
3
is
the
serial
data
input
line.
Pin
5 is
the
reference line.
D.
On
your
computer,
enter
your
communication
program.
Configure
your
computer
for 9600
baud,
8
data
bits, 1
stop
bit,
and
no
parity.
E.
Turn
on
the
generator.
