ADJUSTING THE DASH-POT
Check:
Dash-pot operation
Engine stalls when quick decelera-
tion Adjust.
Adjustment steps
(1) Install the tachometer onto the spark
plug lead of cylinder #1.
(2) Start the engine and allow it to warm
up for several minutes.
(3) Keep the engine speed at 3,750 ± 50 r/
min.
(4) Turn the adjust screw until the dash-
pot plunger is just touching the lever
.
(5) Close the throttle and stop the engine.
(6) Remove the tachometer.
NOTE:
Dash-pot adjustment should be carried on
after adjusting the carburetor.
START-IN-GEAR PROTECTION DEVICE
ADJUSTMENT (MHD, WHD)
1. C h e ck:
Start-in-gear protection device oper-
ation
Incorrect Adjust.
2. Adjust:
Start-in-gear protection device cable
Adjustment steps
(1) Set the shift lever in the neutral posi-
tion.
(2) Lossen the locknut .
(3) Adjust the start-in-gear protection dev-
ice cable adjusting nut so that the
point on the wire connector aligns
with the mark on the flywheel cover.
(4) Tighten the locknut.
