EXHAUST GAS CONTROL
PROCEDURES
1. Installation:
Exhaust probe set
Setting steps
(1) Remove the 8 mm bolts and their
washers.
(2) Install the exhaust gas probe .
(3) Connect the 3 hoses between the
probes and the surge tank .
(4) Connect the gas analyzer hose to
the surge tank.
2. Preparations for measuring:
Engine temperature
Warming up steps
(1) Run the engine in neutral at the speci-
fied speed for 15 minutes .
(2) With shift in position rev the engine 3
times .
(3) Keep, in neutral again, the specified
speed for 1 minute .
(4) Stop the engine and check the engine
oil temperature.
(5) Keep the engine running or let it cool
down until the specified temperature is
obtained.
NOTE:
The periodical exhaust gas test should
be done without the top cowling.
Shift in neutral during exhaust gas test.
Calibrate the gas analyzer before mea-
surement.
