D.1 Metasys N2 Specifications
Drives can be monitored and controlled by a controller on a Metasys N2 network (N2) using RS-485 technology. The drives
act as slaves on the N2 network.
Up to 255 drives can communicate on a single N2 network. If more drives or N2 devices are required, another N2 network is
required.
The N2 node address is configurable by a parameter in the drive. This defines the physical address of the drive on the MS-TP
network.
Once the addressing is set, a controller can initiate communication to the drive. The drive will perform the specified function
and then send a response back to the controller.
