2.5 Power Connection and ON/OFF
WARNING
• To prevent the possibility of electric shock when wiring, confirm that the power
supply source is turned OFF.
• To prevent an electric shock or fire, use only power cords supplied by
YOKOGAWA for the MX100 Data Acquisition Unit.
• Make sure to perform protective earth grounding to prevent electric shock.
Connect the power cord for the MX100 Data Acquisition Unit to a three-prong
power outlet with a protective earth terminal. The AC outlet must be of a three-
prong type with a protective earth ground terminal.
Do not use the functional ground terminal (see page 2-3) as a protective earth
terminal.
• Do not use an extension cord without protective earth ground. Otherwise, the
protection function will be compromised.
Use a power supply that meets the conditions indicated below.

Note
Do not use a supply voltage in the range 132 to 180 VAC, as this may have adverse effects on
the measurement accuracy.
Connection Procedure Using the Power Cord (When the Suffix Code of the
Power Supply and Power Cord Is M)
1. Check that the power switch of the main module is OFF.
2. Connect the power cord plug to the power connector of the MX100 Data Acquisition
Unit. (Use the power cord that came with the package.)
3. Connect the plug on the other end of the power cord to the outlet that meets the
conditions above. The AC outlet must be of a three-prong type with a protective earth
ground terminal.
