6.5 CLUTCH DELAY
The Clutch Delay feature provides engine deceleration, followed by a
delay in throttling to the commanded speed in the new desired direc-
tion, upon a Full-Speed Reversal.
The Throttle position drops to Idle and the transmission remains
engaged Ahead or shifts to Neutral (Refer to Section C) In-Gear/Neu-
tral Delay, page 33); the delay that follows is in proportion to the prior
Control Head lever position and how long the lever had been in that
position before the reversal.
Change the Clutch Delay by setting the SW1 Dip Switches on the Pro-
cessor Main Circuit Board using the following steps.
A)Place the System in Set-up Mode by following Section 6.1.5,
page 26.
B) Refer to the Figure 21: for the correct Dip Switch setting.
A)Place the System in Set-up Mode by fol-
lowing Section 6.1.5, page 26.
B)Place the appropriate SW1 Dip Switches
On for the Clutch Pressure Time
required.

C)Store the value that has been set by fol-
lowing Section 6.1.6, page 27.

CAUTION: The settings on all Processors Main Circuit Boards MUST be set the same for Multi-
Screw applications.
NOTE: The pause in gear on a through-shift is proportional to the speed commanded and time at
that speed. The times listed in the Processor Supplement’s "Dip Switch Setting Clutch
Delay" Figure are maximum.
Shifting from Idle Ahead to Idle Astern, the pause is ZERO.
The time required to build to the maximum pause is six times the pause listed in the Proces-
sor Supplement’s "Dip Switch Setting Clutch Delay" Figure.
The pause from Full Astern to Ahead is half that listed in the Processor Supplement’s "Dip
Switch Setting Clutch Delay" Figure for Full Ahead to Astern.
