Inverted robot: Inspecting the oil level in axis-1 gearbox
Use this procedure to inspect the oil level in the gearbox, when the robot is inverted.

DANGER
Turn off all:
• electric power supply
• hydraulic pressure supply
• air pressure supply
to the robot, before entering the safe-
guarded space.

WARNING
Handling gearbox oil involves several
safety risks, see Gearbox lubricants (oil or
grease) on page 29.

Make sure that the oil temperature is +25°C
± 10°C.
CAUTION
The gearbox can contain an excess pres-
sure that can be hazardous. Open the oil
plug carefully in order to let the excess
pressure out.

Remove the protective cap and install the
ventilating valve enclosed with the oil level
gauge.
