Initial steps before testing2
2.2 Checking the blood glucose unit
Blood glucose results can be displayed in two different
units of measurement (mmol/l and mg/dl). Con-
sequently, two different versions of the same meter are
sold. Check that your meter displays the unit of meas-
urement you are accustomed to, in Canada mmol/l. You
can nd the unit of measurement that your meter
displays on the type plate on the back of your meter. If
you do not know which is the right unit of measure-
ment for you, ask your healthcare professional.
The unit of measurement that your meter dis-
plays cannot be changed. If the wrong unit is
printed on the type plate, ask your pharmacist to
change the meter or contact Accu-Chek
Customer Care. Using the wrong unit of meas-
urement can cause you to misinterpret the re-
sults.
