Only use the lancing device with the AST cap in
place. Without the cap the lancet will penetrate
too deeply and the puncture can be very painful
and result in bruising or prolonged bleeding.
7 Press the multifunction button down as far as it
will go. This triggers the lancet, which penetrates
the skin.
8 Take the lancing device away from the puncture
site.
9 Remove the AST cap from the lancing device.
10 Open the tip cover of the meter. If the meter was
switched off it will now switch on.
11 Place the meter to one side.
