7.2. Overview of mounting steps
Requirement: The vehicle/installation location must be prepared (e.g. connection
to the ignition, correct voltage, etc.)
We recommend the following sequence for the mechanical and electrical installation:
− Determine a suitable mounting position for the DLT-V83.
− Secure device mounting (mounting bracket, RAM; mount optionally).
− Connect external accessories to the DLT-V83.
− Install an easily accessible disconnecting device,
such as a switch or circuit breaker close to the device
− Connection to the power supply.
− Seal cable bushings with cable grommets and dummy grommets.
− Close the DLT-V83 with cable cover.
− Mount the DLT-V83 on the device mounting bracket (follow mounting instructions).
7.3. Suitable mounting position
7.3.1. On vehicles: Do not restrict field of view
Inside the vehicle the driver's field of vision must remain free. If installing a keyboard
and scanner on the DLT-V83, please plan for sufficient space.
To prevent accidents: Make sure that the driver's field of vision is not restricted in a
prohibited way when mounting peripheral devices.
No part of the DLT-V83 system may project beyond the vehicle.
7.3.2. Observe the minimum distance to the antenna
CAUTION
Radiation emissions from Wi-Fi, WWAN.
In order to avoid exceeding the specified limits for exposure to radio waves, you
(and other people in your vicinity) should maintain a minimum distance of 20 cm
from the antenna integrated into the DLT-V83.
Please observe this during installation of the DLT-V83 with antenna.
