7.3.3. Installation: Cooling by means of fresh air supply
The DLT-V83 employs a passive cooling concept whereby the waste heat generated
inside the device is emitted from the surface of the housing. For this system to function
properly, sufficient fresh air circulation is required.
NOTICE: Physical damage
If there is no access to fresh cooling air, it may result in overheating and severe
damage to the device.
Never install the system in a closed environment where the cooling air is unable to
dissipate accumulated heat to the outside.
The maximum permissible ambient temperature for the entire system needs to be
taken into account for the specific application area.
7.4. Connecting external accessories to the DLT-V83
The DLT-V83 must be disconnected from the power supply:
− before external devices (e.g. scanner, keyboard) are connected or disconnected.
− and before the DLT-V83 is connected to a network.
NOTICE: Physical damage
Make sure that external peripheral devices with their own power supply are either
switched on at the same time as the DLT-V83 or after you start the DLT-V83.
If this is not possible, please ensure that the DLT-V83 is adequately protected from
power leakage caused by an external device.
Only power up the DLT-V83 when all devices have been connected and the DLT-V83
has been closed correctly (remember the cable cover!). Otherwise, you may damage
the DLT-V83.
