Troubleshooting and Test Functions 3
1100 Series WS MWS Reference Manual 65
Leak
A leak was detected in the sampler.
The signals from the two temperature sensors (leak sensor and
board-mounted temperature-compensation sensor) are used by the leak
algorithm to determine whether a leak is present. When a leak occurs, the leak
sensor is cooled by the solvent. This changes the resistance of the leak sensor
which is sensed by the leak-sensor circuit on the MTP board.
Probable Causes
Loose fittings.
Broken capillary.
Leaking rotor seal or needle seat.
Defective metering seal.
Suggested Actions
Ensure all fittings are tight.
Exchange defective capillaries.
Exchange the rotor seal or seat capillary.
Exchange the metering seal.
NOTE
Make sure the leak sensor is thoroughly dry before restarting the well-plate sampler.
NOTE
Crossflow caused by a leaky rotor seal may cause a spill over of seat in bypass position of
valve.
