1 Installing the Sampler
Installing the Sampler
1 Install the LAN interface board in the sampler (if required), see “Interface
Board" on page 129.
2 Remove the adhesive tape which covers the side and front doors.
3 Open the front door and remove the left side door.
4 Remove the transport protection foam.
5 Re-install the corrugated waste tube in the plastic port.
6 Re-install the left side door (take care of the magnet at the back).
7 Place the autosampler in the stack or on the bench in all horizontal
position.
8 Ensure the power switch at the front of the sampler is OFF.
9 Connect the power cable to the power connector at the rear of the sampler.
10 Connect the CAN cable to the other Agilent 1100 modules.
11 If a Agilent ChemStation is the controller, connect either
• the GPIB cable to the detector
• the LAN connection to the LAN interface
12 Connect the APG remote cable (optional) for non Agilent 1100 Series
instruments.
13 Ensure the side panel is correctly installed.

WARNING
To avoid personal injury, keep fingers away from the needle area during autosampler
operation. Do not attempt to insert or remove a vial or a plate when the needle is
positioned.
