About the User’s and Programmer’s Information
This document provides user and programmer information for the spectrum analyzer 
functions.
NOTE The front- and rear-panel features, along with the numeric keypad and 
alpha-numeric softkey fundamentals, are illustrated and described in 
the “Getting Started” chapter of the measurement guide. 
What is in This Book
• Instrument Functions - provides information about the front-panel and lower-level 
key functions of your analyzer and their associated programming commands. The 
information is organized in alphabetical order based on the labels of the front-panel 
keys. The lower-level menu key functions are described under the front-panel keys in 
the same order as they appear in the menus.
• Programming Fundamentals - provides information on SCPI and on using the LAN. 
Refer to Chapter 5 , “Programming Fundamentals,” on page  293.
• Using the STATus System - provides information about the instrument’s internal 
status monitoring system with information on how to monitor the status using a remote 
program and descriptions of all the available commands. Refer to Chapter 6 , “Using 
The Status Monitoring Subsystem,” on page  323 and Chapter 7 , “IEEE and STATus 
Commands (Remote Commands Only),” on page  343.
