Auto Range
For the “Electronic Attenuation” parameter, when the “Auto Range” is ON the entire
frequency range of the analyzer is scanned to determine the total power applied to the
analyzer. The RF input attenuation is then automatically set to ensure that the analyzer
input is not overloaded.
For the “Internal Preamplifier” parameter, turning on the preamp gives a better noise
figure, but a decreased TOI to noise floor dynamic range. So when the “Auto Range” is ON,
the instrument will optimize this setting.
Y Axis Units
Displays the menu keys that enable you to change the vertical (Y) axis amplitude units.
The analyzer retains the entered Y Axis Units separately for both Log and Lin amplitude
scale types. For example, you can set
Scale Type to Log and Y Axis Units to dBmV. Then you
can set
Scale Type to Lin and Y Axis Units to W. When you switch between Log and Lin the
Y Axis Units will remain to dBmV in Log and W in Lin.
When you preset the analyzer, Scale Type is set to Log with dBm default Y Axis units.
When you switch the Scale Type to Lin, the Y Axis units default to Volts.
