Utility and Control/Sweep Functions
Identification Query (Remote Command Only) Returns a string of instrument identification
information. The string will contain the model number, serial number and software
revision.
The response is organized into four fields separated by commas. The field definitions are as
follows:
Manufacturer
Model
Serial number
Software version
Option Manager
Displays the System Stats menu that enables you to use the Option Manager to:
• View installed options
• View installable options (by user and by factory)
• View installation information
• Install an option
Installed Options Displays a table that lists the options that have been installed and are
licensed on your analyzer. If an option has been installed but not licensed, then it will not

Remote Command *IDN?
Example *IDN? Returns instrument identification information, such
as:
Agilent Technologies,N1996A,US45310109,A.01.02
Remote Command Notes There is no equivalent key. But this information can found on
the instrument “Splash Screen” by pressing the Mode key.
Parts of this information are also found by pressing System,
System Stats, and System, Option Manager, Install Info.
