80 Chapter 3
Mode
Meas Off (Spectrum Analyzer) Measurement
Mode
Min Hold
Pressing
Min Hold causes the trace to be cleared and a new minimum-hold measurement
sequence to be started. A min hold sequence maintains the minimum level for each trace
point of the selected trace, and updates each trace point if a new minimum level is detected
in a successive sweep. Min Hold is restarted if any parameter is changed. Restarting Min
Hold also restarts averaging and max hold, because there is only one count for Average and
Hold.
Update (View) On/Off
This key lets you turn
Off active trace updating. That is, make it an inactive trace (or a
stored trace). This does not affect whether the trace is visible or not. Use the
Display
Show/Blank key to change its visibility.
When a trace becomes active (
Update = On), the trace is cleared, the average count is reset,
and the instrument prepares to begin a new sweep.
Note that turning
Off trace updating does not restart the sweep and does not restart
averaging or hold functions for other traces.
State Saved The type information for each trace is saved in Instrument
State

Dependencies / Couplings Affected by
Avg Mode and Avg Number
Whenever the user presses Min Hold or sends the equivalent SCPI
command
, Update is set to On and Display is set to Show.
Automatic detector selection rules depend on the trace type
selections.

Remote Command :TRACe[1]|2|3|4:UPDate[:STATe] ON|OFF|1|0
:TRACe[1]|2|3|4:UPDate[:STATe]?
Example TRAC2:UPD 1 Makes trace 2 active
TRAC3:UPD 0 Makes trace 3 inactive (stops updating), but does
not turn off display of the trace.
