AC/DC coupling
The DC coupled setting allows both AC and DC input signals
to pass through to the measurement circuitry. The AC
coupled setting blocks the DC component of the input signal
by switching a capacitor in series to the input path.
The DC coupled setting allows signals to be measured down
to 0 Hz. This setting should be used when making DC
voltage measurements. The AC coupled setting is selected
when you need to measure only the AC component of a
signal, for example, when making RMS or peak- to- peak
voltage measurements.
The AC/DC coupling selection is shown as follows.
