4.11 Packer coulter
Each packer coulter (Fig. 64/1)
• cuts a groove for the seed into the pre-
consolidated strips of the wedge ring tyre roller
• places the seed into the seed furrow.

The desired seed placement depth of the packer
coulters is adjusted on each machine segment by re-
inserting depth setting pins (Fig. 65/2). The different
settings have an effect on the carrying arm (Fig. 65/1)
that achieves the seed placement depth.
