1.4 Product Description
The GRP System FX is an integrated system for efficient measurement of the track geometry
and surrounding environment (subject to the configuration).
The GRP System FX optimally combines various sensors and measurement instruments. The
following components are used depending upon configuration:
Modular track trolley TGS FX with integrated sensors for the measurement of gauge, super
elevation (cant) and relative stationing (odometer) as base platform for the track measuring
system configuration GRP 1000, GRP 3000, GRP 5000, VMS 1000, VMS 3000, IMS
Relative, IMS 1000, IMS 3000 and IMS 5000.
Track trolley GRP TSC used as carrier for the automatic tribrach and total station as used
for the configurations VMS 1000 and VMS 3000. Please note that the GRP TSC used for
the configuration VMS 3000 by default has no integrated sensors for odometer, cant and
gauge measurement. Integrated sensors for this trolley are an option and must be ordered
separately.
Prism column GPC 100 (used for the configuration GRP 1000).
Profiler FX with integrated stepping motor, electronic distance module and angular encoder
for the automatic profile and single point measurement (used for the configurations GRP
3000, VMS 3000 and IMS 3000).
High-speed laser scanner on top of battery column GBC 5000 (used for the configuration
GRP 5000 and IMS 5000). Please see Section 1.5.3, High-speed laser scanner for the
configuration GRP/IMS 5000” on page 16 for a list of supported laser scanners.
Motorised total station or a GNSS system for the determination of absolute position
(georeferencing) can be used for the configuration GRP 1000, GRP 3000, GRP 5000,
VMS 1000 (only total station), VMS 3000 (only total station) and IMS 1000. Please see
Section 1.5.1, Total station for georeferencing of GRP System FXon page 15 for a list of
supported total stations and Section 1.5.2, GNSS system for georeferencing of GRP System
FX” on page 16 for a list of supported GNSS Systems.
Amberg Measurement Unit (AMU 1030, AMU 2010 and AMU 2030) used for the
configurations IMS Relative, IMS 1000, IMS 3000 and IMS 5000. The integrated high-
performance Inertial Measurement Unit is used for measuring the trajectory of the track
geometry.
