Chapter 2 Compliance with
instructions and plausability checks
by the user
The manufacturer guarantees the product characteristics and the measuring accuracies (=
quality) according to the data sheets, provided that the user follows the instructions, regulations
and recommendations for use and maintenance according to the user manual. If no standards
exist for the defined measuring accuracies, these have been determined by the manufacturers
according to their own procedures.
The user acknowledges that in the event of defective sensors, mechanical damage or faulty
electronic functions, incorrect measurement results may result. The user is obliged to check
the displayed measured values for plausibility, especially at the beginning of a measurement /
measurement campaign. Various measured values are displayed in the measurement screen.
Check these measured values for plausibility, especially when starting a new measurement.
In particular:
Does the stationing value increase or decrease according to the distance stationing? Does
the change in values correspond to the distance travelled?
Are the values shown for superelevation, track gauge and versine/curvature plausible?
Does the measured profile appear to be correct (no conspicuous measurements, no
inexplicable gaps in the measuring points)?
If you notice any abnormalities, we recommend checking in the measurement function, for
example by measuring the same section in both measurement carriage orientations and
comparing the results.
