Check and adjust the cant sensor. See Section 6.4, “Check and adjustment of cant
sensor” on page 80.
■
Set the reference stationing in the system software (see respective software manual)
5.8.2 Move to the measuring position
Pull the brake lever in order to release the dead-man's brake and push the trolley to the desired
position. Do not push the trolley faster than walking speed. In order to avoid derailment it is
advised not to pull the trolley.
Release the brake lever when you reach the measuring position.
5.8.3 Rotating the trolley
Between left handed and right handed curves, it may be necessary to change the orientation
of the trolley to keep the two wheel part on the lower rail.
Follow the procedure below:
1. Retract the gauge measuring wheel.
2. Lift the trolley from track and turn the trolley. Ensure that the trolley is set back to track at
the same position of track as it has been lifted off previously. See details in Section 11.11.2,
“Weights per handle” on page 101
3. Release the gauge measuring wheel.
4. Check that the trolley is located at the same stationing.
5. Adjust the push handle to the desired position.
Change the trolley orientation in the system software after the rotation of the track
trolley.
5.8.4 Interruption of measurement
If you interrupt the measurement (e.g. because of an approaching train) proceed as follows:
1. Switch OFF the lock-mode if you are measuring in absolute mode with a TPS or start pause
function if you are measuring with an IMS system.
2. Retract the gauge measuring wheel.
3. Mark the current position of the trolley on the track.
4. Remove the trolley from the track. See details in Section 11.11.2, “Weights per
handle” on page 101
5. Wait until it is safe to continue.
6. Re-install the trolley at the same position on the track.
7. Release the gauge measuring wheel.
8. Switch ON the lock-mode if you are measuring in absolute mode with a TPS. The total station
will automatically find the prism again.
9. Continue measurement.
5.8.5 End of measurement
Please observe the following hints when finishing the measurement:
1. Close the measuring software.
